A message did not arrive
Start with the Log tab of Settings›Notify for Telegram. It shows the last 100 messages, and for every failed one, Telegram’s error and what to do.
What the status means
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sent | Telegram accepted the message. Check the chat and topic shown in the row. |
| Waiting | Not sent yet. See Messages stay in Waiting. |
| Will retry | A temporary error. The plugin tries again by itself. |
| Not sent | Telegram refused it. The row shows the reason and a hint. |
If the order or form is not in the log at all, check the Events tab: the event may be off, or the form may not be checked in Which forms. See Choose events.
Messages stay in Waiting
Messages are sent in the background, and WordPress runs background tasks when someone visits the site. If background tasks are turned off on your site (DISABLE_WP_CRON in wp-config.php), ask your developer or host to set up a server cron job for wp-cron.php.
Common errors

| The bot token is wrong or was revoked | Copy the current token from @BotFather (/mybots → your bot → API Token) and save it again. |
| The bot is not a member of this group or channel any more | Add the bot back to the group or channel. |
| The bot cannot post | In a channel, make the bot an admin with the right to post messages. In a group where only admins can write, make the bot an admin. |
| You blocked the bot in Telegram | Open the chat with the bot and press Restart. |
| The topic was not found | The topic may be deleted or closed. Pick the topic again, or send to the main chat. |
| Telegram gave the group a new ID | Topics were turned on in the group. Press Find chats again or enter the new ID. |
| Your server could not reach api.telegram.org | See Hosting cannot reach Telegram. |
The text of sent messages is not kept in the log. Failed messages keep it, so you can see what was meant to go out.
