Several chats and rules
A message goes to every chat whose conditions match. For example, kitchen orders go to the kitchen group, and orders over 100 $ also go to you.
All of this is on the Chats tab. What to send at all is still set on the Events tab: an event turned off there goes nowhere.
Add a chat
- Press Add a chat.
- Press Find chats and write to the bot in the chat or topic you need, as on the Connection tab. You can also type the Chat ID and Topic ID.
- Send a test message, check Telegram, then press Add.
A new chat gets every event until you set its conditions. The main chat comes from the Connection tab and has conditions of its own. To stop a chat, press Remove.
Set conditions
Open the line under a chat’s name, check what it should get, and press Save Changes. A condition with nothing checked lets everything through.
| Condition | What it does |
|---|---|
| Events | Which events the chat gets |
| Status changes to | Status changes to these statuses only. A new order is not affected |
| Product categories | At least one product of the order is in a checked category or its subcategory |
| Order total | From and to, with shipping and taxes. An empty field means no limit |
| Forms | Which forms the chat gets. With several form plugins, each has its own list |
Categories and the total apply to orders. Forms apply to submissions of that form plugin.
Only forms and statuses turned on the Events tab appear here.
Default chat
The default chat keeps a message from getting lost:
- if the conditions of no chat match, the message goes to the default chat. The log marks it “(default chat)”;
- if Telegram does not accept a message, for example the bot was removed from a group, a copy with a “Not delivered” note goes to the default chat.
It is the main chat at first. Pick another one at the bottom of the tab, or pick Do not send if a message that matches no conditions should go nowhere.
So if you want the main chat to get only some of the orders, change the default chat too: otherwise the other orders still reach the main chat as the default chat.
Example
Orders over 100 $ go to the owner, form submissions go to managers, and nothing else is sent:
| Chat | Events | Other conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Owner (the main chat) | New order | Order total from 100 |
| Managers | Form submissions |
Default chat: Do not send.
